It is no stranger that legendary costume designer “Jany Temime” designed all the outfits of recent 007 movie Skyfall. Interestingly she is the only designer who got the golden opportunity to show her potential and creativeness in designing for the top two successful franchises ever (Harry Potter and James Bond). She proved herself the perfect in both occasion and got a reward of Costume Designer Guild Award for both movie series first in 2011 for Harry Potter’s Deadly Hallows pt 2 and then in 2012 for James Bond’s Skyfall.
During her interview with GQ just before the release of Skyfall she revealed the idea behind designing of costume for each character. Jany discloses not only her way of designing 007 clothes ridiculously good but also talk about the unique outfit of Q master played by Ben Whishaw which is undeniably the most important character of the movie. She said that the actual prospect behind designing Whishaw costume in that way is to show Ben a real young nerd or student who blessed with lots of money but still always go wrong with his clothes. She also concluded that she want him to look completely absolutely different than Bond and design the costume for him which Bond will never ever dream to wear.
Ben’s unique and recognizable costume includes fantastic piece of knitwear; camel fronted V shaped cardigan trimmed with contrasting burgundy and navy color, his cardigan also bearing zip button front closure with two slash pockets. Q wore white shirt bearing stripes and has broad collar and double cuffs he also ties four hand note of his dark blue color knitted tie.
